ICCA Welcomes You!

"Professionalism, high standards of ethical conduct, and quality service are what ICCA members believe in and strive to achieve through shared experience and education."

Is ICCA for You?
Our member firms represent the entire breadth of the computing industry. Although ICCA does not find contracts for its members, it does provide members with resources to develop a successful information technology based consulting business. Member firms best served by the ICCA typically have attributes that include, but not limited to:

  • The owner(s) or principal(s) is self-directed, highly motivated, business-minded, and has an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • The member firm believes in honest and straightforward dealing with their clients. The firm’s compliance with ICCA’s Code of Ethics and Standards & Practices confirms this belief.
  • The member firm provides information or computer technology services publicly and for a fee.
  • The member firm actively markets their services.
  • The member firm is responsible for turning their own prospects into clients.
  • The member firm is responsible for directly providing the consulting services, which can include offering: advice and counsel, developmental design, implementation, project management, training, programming, etc.
  • The member firm can support multiple clients at the same time.
  • The member firm has a direct financial relationship with the recipients of their services.
  • The member firm is responsible for all aspects of the business, including accounting, legal, marketing, sales and service. Note that “responsible for” does not require actively working in all these areas, but it does mean insuring that the related tasks are accomplished.
  • The owner(s) or principal(s) of the member firm is interested in achieving a successful business. Note that “successful” can include staying a one person firm or adding employees, generating more revenue, becoming recognized as an expert in a particular field, or any other criteria that satisfies the owner or principal.
There are three categories of membership within the ICCA, that being a Consultant, an Associate, and Student member. ICCA supports a wide variety of member profiles in addition to students. All ICCA firms must have high ethical standards and treat their clients with respect.
